FOREST OF THE SKY (2021)

There's a story my grandmama used to tell me about adventurers who traveled in all directions the world had to offer. Some set out east to taste the brine of the sea, some to the west to feel the scorch of the desert sand. Some dug deep into the rich soils of the land, burrowing as deep as they could through layer upon layer of stone. And some took to the mountains, scaled old paths, and found ladders to the skies where the trees were heavy with trapped clouds snared in branches on their journeys across the skies.

Grandmama told me she found such a ladder when she was a girl and would gather bits of the heavens to fill her bedroom. When I'm old enough, I'm headed there myself.
