THE READING TREE AT NIGHT (2020)

Emmaleia sat every night of the summer on the roots of her favourite lumbering pine, as she read story after story to the fireflies that gathered there. They loved to hear her tales, their rear glowing and undulating with excitement as the story cusped it’s climax. Wehn her candle’s wick burned to it’s end, a cluster of fireflies would resume its duty, illuminating each book’s page with the utmost care.
